The Executive Chairman of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC), Victor Muruako Esq., has paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Accountant General of the Federation, Shamsedeen Babatunde Ogunjimi, at his office in Abuja.

During the visit, Muruako emphasized the need to strengthen inter-agency collaboration between the two bodies, describing the engagement as a step toward enhancing synergy in addressing key issues. These include the funding of the Commission, the timely release of funds, a review of the existing template for the calculation of operating surplus, and strategies to improve the nation’s revenue generation.

He reiterated the Commission’s mandate to promote transparency and accountability in the management of government finances, stressing that cooperation with the Office of the Accountant General is vital to achieving these goals.

In his response, Ogunjimi expressed readiness to work closely with the FRC to reinforce policies aimed at boosting revenue generation. He welcomed the initiative and affirmed his commitment to fostering a more accountable and transparent financial system in the country.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties agreeing on the importance of sustained collaboration to support Nigeria’s fiscal stability and development.
