The Management of Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC) held its continuous Knowledge Sharing Programme on Fiscal issues. This is an important aspect of the reforms introduced by the Executive Chairman, Victor Muruako for senior officers of the Commission to keep up with the knowledge demands of the mandate of the Commission.
This edition was led by Dr. Chris Uwadoka, Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman. His presentation was anchored on “Explaining Debt to GDP to a 15-year-old girl”
He kicked off with a quote from Barrister Eze Onyekpere, stating: “If Nigeria was a private company, it should have been declared bankrupt.”
He went further to address fiscal issues plaguing the economy and how staff of the Commission can determine when the Debt ratio of the nation is on the high side. He then provided insights on handling fiscal and debt policy issues for the sustainability of our nation’s economic growth.
