President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the constitution of the Board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC), appointing Dr. Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as the Executive Chairman.
The newly appointed Board comprises:
1. Dr. Abdullahi Maikano Saidu – Executive Chairman
2. Hon. Mohammed Asmau – Member
3. Hon. Mohammed Aliyu Makama – Member
4. Dr. Suleiman Gidado – Member
5. Hon. Louis O. Ndukwe – Member
6. Hon. Amaechi Ugwele – Member
7. Hon. Olaniyi Idowu Onikola – Member
In a move aimed at ensuring a seamless transition and strengthening institutional collaboration, the Executive Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Maikano Saidu, accompanied by Hon. Louis O. Ndukwe, Board Member representing the South-South geopolitical zone, held a strategic meeting with the Commission’s management team led by the Acting Chairman, Barr. Charles Chukwuemeka Abana.
The meeting provided a platform for the Board and Management to align on the Commission’s strategic priorities, reinforce their shared vision, and reaffirm their commitment to advancing the mandate of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission. Discussions focused on enhancing institutional efficiency, promoting fiscal discipline, and fostering transparency, accountability, innovation, and excellence in public financial management.
The constitution of the new Board marks the beginning of a renewed chapter for the Commission, with expectations of purposeful leadership, stronger collaboration, and sustained efforts toward the effective implementation of the Fiscal Responsibility Act in support of Nigeria’s economic growth and sustainable national development.
